A LinkDM alternative that runs comment-to-DM free

Three tools, the rows that decide most comparisons. Real monthly prices throughout, and every LinkDM figure is the point at which the feature actually works, not the headline free plan.

LinkDM's Meta Business Partner status is a documented programme status, not a marketing line. Its own homepage figures, more than 50,000 users and more than 1.2 million DMs sent a day, are large for this category, and they sit on the homepage rather than in a help article.

Its FAQ lists Instagram and Facebook, with a Facebook AutoDM feature and Facebook automations on the free tier, so it should not be described as Instagram-only. The $19 plan bundles flow automation, universal triggers, a DM planner, reminder DMs, Live automation and three connected accounts.

Both products mention checking followers, and the two behaviours are different. LinkDM's check is a nudge: the DM still arrives after a few retries whether or not the person followed. ReplyMagnet's check is a gate: the resource waits until Instagram's own API confirms the follow.

Decide which behaviour you intended before treating either as a missing feature. For a time-sensitive resource you may prefer no follow requirement at all. If you do gate, review Meta's platform rules and explain the requirement before someone asks. A working API field is not blanket permission for every use.

Two free plans are not the same free plan. LinkDM's covers 1,000 DMs a month on one account and includes auto-reply on posts, reels and story replies, but the keyword-comment trigger this page is about is not part of it. The lowest price at which LinkDM does what this comparison measures is $19 a month.

ReplyMagnet counts one unit: an engagement, which is a reply or DM that actually went out. A matched comment's public reply and DM share one engagement, so the allowance is not a DM count. What the money buys is volume and routing: $9 for 25,000 engagements adds CSV export, phone capture and Mailchimp or Kit sync.

The $29 plan (3 accounts) covers 100,000 engagements and adds outbound webhooks and AI-written replies. Past any allowance, a comment queues and releases oldest-first once headroom opens. One caveat in plain terms: a queued request that outlives Instagram's messaging window expires rather than delivering late, so a flat bill is not a promise of instant delivery.

Also confirm LinkDM's DM allowance for your exact bundle. Its pages describe some limits as totals and others per account, so get the interpretation that applies before budgeting for several profiles. Neither set of numbers here is an annual rate wearing a monthly label.

Figures pulled from each tool's own published plan pages, LinkDM checked 29 August 2026, not a sales call. Where LinkDM's material does not state something, the table says so rather than reading silence as absence.

At three accounts and a 25,000 ceiling, LinkDM costs $10 a month less than ReplyMagnet. A business whose whole requirement is keyword comment replies across three Instagram or Facebook profiles at that volume can reasonably take that saving, provided the bundle's DM limit reads as a total in its case.

What the $10 buys on ReplyMagnet: a follow gate verified through Instagram's own API, AI matching on every plan, and an overflow queue on every plan including free rather than only at $99.

Five steps, in this order:

1. Keep the LinkDM campaign saved and copy its messages and resource. Connect the account to ReplyMagnet and start the free plan; no card is needed.
2. Create a campaign with the same keyword on the same post and attach the same file or link. Keep the offer, resource and wording close to the original, so any change in downloads is easy to explain.
3. Test from another account. Check the DM on a phone and confirm the file opens there.
4. Turn off the LinkDM automation for that keyword or post before the new campaign serves real requests. Leave both running and whichever tool answers first takes the comment, while the second reply reads as a duplicate.
5. Launch, compare completed deliveries and usable lead records, then add email capture only after basic delivery is confirmed.

Whatever sits in LinkDM today, contacts and DM history, stays there. Exporting from LinkDM is outside what we can speak to, since it is not our product. Once the campaign is live, each answered comment becomes a lead row you can see at once and export as a CSV from $9 a month.
